Looking ahead : Bankhead House B&B in 2017

Posted on January 20, 2017

We’re well into January 2017, with lovely bright and sunny days, and only the occasional gloomy day ( and not very much rain………..shhh, it might hear me!!). The B&B has been closed for a couple of months while we’ve been busy with other projects. Christmas and New Year was a busy time with family and friends arriving to spend time with us, and now it’s quieter, thoughts turn to the new B&B season. This week I decided to re-open the B&B on 2nd April, and welcome guests until the end of October, though we’ll be closed for a couple of weeks at the end of  September for a family wedding here. We’ll be working hard to ensure the gardens look stunning for the event. We’ve done this twice before. I’m particularly looking forward to planting up birch and willow in pots to create a pathway to the garden from the parking area. And I’m already rediculously excited by the plan which evolved this week about how we’re going to create the wedding cake ! But enough of this for now.

Last year I decided this was going to be the final year for B&B at Bankhead, so we’re going to ensure our final year is an especially good and memorable one for everyone. I will be embarking on a new direction, a new interest, which will require more flexibility than the B&B work allows. So, this is going to be the best year yet. I’m currently revising our room folders, adding more information, suggestions and recommendations for places to visit. I’m also looking at the breakfast menu, such an important part of the Bankhead experience. I’m considering bringing back the breakfast pancakes which were very popular, and adding one or two other little tweaks. We enjoy making people happy with all that Bankhead has to offer, and we enjoy the appreciation that comes our way as a result. Bankhead is so much more than just a bed to sleep in and food in the morning. So if you’re reading this and are planning to come to Fife in Scotland in 2017, you know what you need to do. It’s so easy to book on this website. It requires a credit card to book online. You can also email or phone for more information, or to make a reservation.
